Theatre 145 Closes For The Season

Last year, in 2007, the final two events of the Roadhouse Theatre were Rocky Horror and Films For Food. Following those two events the Roadhouse closed its doors.

This year the final two events of 2008 were Rocky Horror and Films For Food and talk was going around that Theatre 145 was going to go the way of the Roadhouse. According to Steven Opsanic, director of the Great Lakes Film Association, quite the opposite is true. "Yes, Theatre 145 is closing but not permanently," he said quickly adding that the theatre is simply closing for the fall/winter holidays.

"We realize that the holidays are important to the people who attend our events as well as the performers and behind the scenes people who make our productions possible," Opsanic said. "It takes countless hours to get a show together and we'd rather have the people with their families at this time of year."

"When we come back in January people are going to notice a lot of changes in what we do and how we do it," he said. He said that there are going to be a lot more theatrical productions and some concerts. "We like having the concerts and we will keep having them but we are going to do a lot more theatrical performances." He said that there are going to be renovations to the inside of the building such as curtains for the stage as well as a redecorated coffee house.

Opsanic said that the reopened Theatre 145 is going to be a place where people can enjoy concerts, musicals and plays and think of it as a place where they feel they can come and have a good time.

See you in 2009...
